Payments to be made by tenants prior to commencing the tenancy:
  • Tenants are required to pay one week’s rent in order to commence the tenant referencing process.  The amount is charged per property and not per tenant.  This payment is non-refundable if you withdraw from the tenancy process.  If you proceed with the tenancy, the payment will be deducted from your first month’s rent.
  • On the day the tenancy commences, and prior to receiving the keys, the tenants will pay the balance of their rent along with the deposit.
  • The deposit will be paid in full and will be the equivalent of the rent.  Occasionally, landlords request five week’s rent as the deposit.  The deposit will be registered with the DPS Custodial Scheme.
  • If a tenant is to be managed directly by the landlord, Lets Manage North East Ltd will register the deposit with the DPS and then after 30 days, will transfer it to the landlord’s DPS account.
  • Lets Manage North East Ltd do not accept cash, debit card payments or credit card payments for any rent or deposit payments.  All payments must be paid by BACs or standing order into the Lets Manage North East Ltd protected client account.  You will be provided with the bank account details before the payments are due at the start of the tenancy.
